Where did ASMITHMUSIC come from?
During the pandemic, when everything shifted into the virtual space, it was necessary for musicians and creatives to continue to build on their understanding of all things musical. Andrew saw a need to continue to help people understand music theory and the voice, while also assisting people who wanted transcriptions or new compositions. Those needs were met during the pandemic and have allowed ASMITHMUSIC today to have the following services for the community:
-Music Theory/Aural Skills Lessons
-Voice Lessons
-Music Transcriptions/Arrangements
-New Music Compositions
Why choose ASMITHMUSIC Lessons?
ASMITHMUSIC takes pride in the fact that music is a healing agent. When one learns the concepts of music, one will be able to grow and learn how to maneuver through life by realizing what this art form is capable of and how it can help you and the world around you. It is the art form of music that requires your mind to understand, your heart and emotions to feel, and your entire body to convey all that it means to be who you are in order to empathize with yourself and others. Empathy is a very important part of the human condition that many people no longer understand. We know that the arts, and in particular music, can help grow this attribute because empathy comes from a place of feeling, not just understanding. When music is finally felt, whether in performance or in the classroom, empathy is now accessible and can be achieved.
We believe in advancing your understanding to make music fun and relatable. We also believe that when you take our lessons, that you too will enjoy music so much so that you yourself will want to teach it, to pass it on.
We at ASMITHMUSIC take our teaching and work seriously. We know that music can be confusing, especially when taught by someone who may not know how to empathize with your way of learning. Our specialty is to tailor the lesson and instruction to you. We want the best for you and that means working hard to hear what you need and give you positive results.
ASMITHMUSIC NOW
ASMITHMUSIC originally was created to provide only tutoring and consulting for the community. It has now grown into an arts organization with the purpose of making music accessible to all through not only tutoring and consulting, but also performance and arts management. ASMITHMUSIC now is governed by a Board of Directors that help create opportunities for artists and the community to experience all aspects of music. The Board of Directors meets regularly to discuss the needs of the community and how we as ASMITHMUSIC can make music more accessible.
